THE BLACK COUNTRY MEMORIES CLUB

In Memorium Reg Aston 1946 - 2009

Reg was from the Ettingshall area of the Town and attended Ettingshall Primary School before moving on to Stonefields Secondary School.  He was married to Sandra, a Bilston girl, for 41 years, and although they lived at Wombourne Bilston was always in his heart.

Reg had a great interest in his beloved Bilston, and was always eager to collect new information. He was a great asset, not only to the Memories Club, where he was a committee member and exhibitions organiser, but also to the Black Country Bugle for his wonderful contributions.

Reg

Reg was rarely seen without his trademark waistcoat and Bilston pocket watch.
His own displays were assembled from the thousand and more photos and artefacts of Bilston which he had collected over the years

Reg + Camera

Reg was never without his camera, and you could often see him clicking his way around Bilston during his lunch break.
Reg is seen here showing off his new digital camera to Alan and Isobel Bickley.

Reg is greatly missed, not only as a member of the Club, but as true friend, and for his infectious smile, humour, knowledge, enthusiasm for recording Bilston history and his kindly deeds towards others. We know how much Sandra will miss him because we do too.

Mr Bilston, it was a great pleasure to have known you. Rest In Peace Dear Friend
